Cemeteries and Memorials

The Commonwealth War Graves Commission (CWGC) does a fantastic job of maintaining the cemeteries and memorials where the men of Britain and the Commonwealth are buried or commemorated.

Tower of London Remembers

From 4th August to 11th November 2014 the Tower of London played host to 888.246 ceramic poppies; one for each British life lost in World War One.

Each night, names were read out from the Roll of Honour, and on Remembrance Day we had all 100 names of the Conisbrough and Denaby 100 Project read out in bulk. It was a very memorable day, and we were in the moat to hear the readings.

See photographs of the poppy installations here.
